You can have better-than-theater sound.
We've all been there. Volume cranked to the point where the floor shakes (but you can't understand the dialogue). Music with so little bass that your ears actually hurt. Soundtracks that sound so "fuzzy" that they could use a shave. A room with so much echo that the original sound is almost unrecognizeable. Wishing that you could read lips. It can be the equipment, but it's frequently the result of bad acoustics.
Home applications involve balancing three issues:
- Aesthetics – What will the room look like after it's been treated?
- Budget – How much money have you set aside for acoustic treatment?
- Performance – How much will the sound improve?
